💰Cashing-out Positions
This section explains what 'Cashing Out' is.
The cashing out option is only available for participants using the Simple mode display.
Cashing out is essentially trading your position back to the market at the best price currently available. You may want to cash out for a number of reasons, some of which may be:
The price has moved in your favour and you would rather lock in your profit rather than wait to see how the event plays out
You no longer have the same conviction in your bet and you would prefer to exit the position at the current best price
You can cash out of your positions by clicking on the cash out button when looking at a market.
Clicking on 'Cash Out' will prompt a modal to appear. The modal will give you the estimated cashout value for the outcome you've bet on. If you decide to go ahead, simply click 'Cashout' and you will automatically receive your funds.
Please note, you can only cash out on 'Active' markets. Once a market has 'Ceased trading', or is 'Settled', you cannot manipulate your position. Read more about this in the Market Lifecycle section.
